Welcome to the Home of the Vipers!

I have been the proud principal of Val Vista Academy since 2017. Prior to that, I was lucky to have been the assistant principal of our BCS sister-school, Dobson Academy, since 2014. Being the principal here is second only to my proudest title of “Mom” to my adult children.

I started teaching in 1997, and would ultimately earn my Master’s in Educational Leadership in 2012. I didn’t set out to be a principal. Fate took me down a path I didn’t anticipate, and I’m so thankful. I love this job and I look forward to being with my fellow Vipers every day!

When you visit our campus, I hope you feel the sense of community. I hope you see students who are actively engaged in rigorous learning. I hope you notice the accomplishments of our students through the banners, plaques, certificates, and trophies that we proudly display. I hope you see staff who love their jobs and love working with students. Above all, I hope you recognize the well-rounded environment we provide to our students.
